T-Lo Furandez is a student at LCC who was inspired to play and sing Mexican music on campus on Oct 18. He grew up in the culture of Mexican music and plays to show how he feels deep inside his culture.
Growing up I was surrounded by Mexican music, but now there’s not enough going on here on campus and it’s boring; I want to feel in the moment and bring others around me to join me as well. It brings me joy to have others join me in the moment and to spread it around – Furandez stated.
Furandez plays because of the beauty of his culture and who he is. Furandez said to be who you are to better yourself, don’t let others bring you down by how they feel. He believes it is important to embrace your culture because it’s where you come from and cannot let it go.
