  • Happy fall and Welcome to Lane Community College! We hope everyone had a great summer, and hopefully some of you were able to grab our summer 2026 edition where we listed some awesome spots around town. Find copies at The Torch’s office, 450 Center Building, and read online at LCCTorch.com. We are very excited to be back at Lane and begin the new academic year with all of you.
  • To all of our new students, we hope this edition helps play a crucial role in your transition to Lane! We’ve included a detailed map of campus, and a new student guide to help you get situated. Lane has been one of the greatest experiences of my life so far, and I’ve found so many opportunities here that I never thought to even explore before, so the best advice I can give you is to take advantage of every opportunity Lane has to offer.
  • Want to get involved at Lane? We’d love to have folks join The Torch team as sports writers, news reporters, multi and social media producers, photographers and more! No experience needed! Just reach out to EditorTorch@Lanecc.edu or drop by 450 Center Building on a Friday morning! You can also check out Lanecc.campuslabs.com/engage for how to join a student group, student government, athletics or more. Check out the Student Government Association’s Student Engagement Mixer on Thursday, Oct.  22, from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm on the second floor of the Center Building.
  • Want to have a say on what goes on at Lane? If you don’t want to join student government you can still show up to meetings and weigh in. Every student who is currently enrolled in one or more credit classes on the main campus and has paid the student activity fee is a member of the Associated Students of Lane Community College (ASLCC). TheLane Student Government Association (Lane SGA) represents the ASLCC. Public Senate meetings start fall term and agendas are posted at Center’s. Student Meeting Room 202. You can also attend the Lane Board of Education’s meetings the first Wednesday of the month at the LCC Boardroom on the main campus. Find out more at Lanecc.edu/about-lane/leadership.
