The City of Eugene has announced the opening of several cooling centers. The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory for the weekend with temperatures in the high 90s to low 80s.. The Eugene Public Library will be open during its regular hours and the public is welcome to come in and cool down.
Downtown branch hours:
M-Th: 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.
F-Su: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Bethel branch:
M, W, Th, F, Sa: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Tu: 12-8 p.m.
Sheldon branch:
M, W, Th, F, Sa: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Tu: 12-8 p.m.
Eugene Community Centers are also open for their regular hours.
- Amazon and Petersen Barn community centers 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday-Friday.
- Hilyard Community Center 9 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.
- Sheldon Community Center 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. Monday-Friday.
- Campbell Community Center 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.
