By River Shepherd for Denali
For now the wakened frogs sing
Under stars so clear and bright
As each new dawn does wring
Too early spring takes flight.
For now the wakened frogs sing
Marshy pools filled anew
What does tomorrow bring?
Something they never knew.
For now the wakened frogs sing
And life still finds a way
In this valley so polluting
Corporations here to stay.
For now the wakened frogs sing
But their future is fading fast
Our fate forever tied to theirs
When will we see at last?
