National HIV Vaccine Awareness Day is observed every May 18th. It is a day to celebrate and acknowledge the individuals including scientists, health professionals, volunteers, and other members who are continuously working hard to find a vaccine for HIV. Today serves to be a reminder of how vital HIV vaccine research is, especially since AIDS is such a life-threatening disease that is yet to have a cure. As a result, it is crucial that we all take the best precautions necessary to prevent the spread of HIV in our communities.
