“Golden Girls: The Laughs Continue” is a comedic triumph that has the audience roaring with laughter from start to finish. Designed for adults 18 and older, the show masterfully blends nostalgia for the beloved original series with fresh, stomach-hurting laughter and humor that leaves everyone doubled over in their seats.

Instead of rehashing an old episode, this production offers an entirely new story, seamlessly building on the legacy of the iconic sitcom. “The Golden Girls” original TV series is a sitcom about four older women   Dorothy, Rose, Blanche, and Sophia   living together in Miami, navigating life, love, and friendship with humor and heart. Their witty banter and tight-knit bond tackle serious topics and everyday challenges with a comedic twist.

The set of  “The Laughs Continue” was designed in stunning detail, complete with cleverly placed doors   even the refrigerator served as a surprise entrance! Lighting effects added another layer of immersion, while witty moments breaking the fourth wall, such as a joke about Eugene’s very own SLUG queen, delighted the local audience and kept the energy high.

One particularly unforgettable moment occurred when Ryan Bernier, portraying Dorothy, danced on stage. The other actors joined in on the fun, pretending to fall out of their seats as though Dorothy’s moves were actually shaking the theater. This clever bit of humor, paired with the cast’s seamless interplay, made the performance feel authentic   like being part of a live studio audience. Such moments of creative comedy made the show feel magical and transformative, pulling the audience directly into the world of the Golden Girls.

The cast delivered phenomenal performances, bringing the cherished characters to life with precision and flair. Adam Graber’s portrayal of Rose stood out as a highlight   his impeccable tone, inflection, and comedic timing made it feel like Rose had stepped right out of the screen.

Vince Kelley’s rendition of Blanche was equally captivating, perfectly embodying the character’s signature walk, sultry demeanor and impeccable style. Every costume was spot-on, and the actors’ mannerisms were flawlessly executed, making the characters instantly recognizable and endearing.

I walked into the theater without clear expectations, but this production exceeded them in every possible way. By the end, I didn’t want the show to end. The Friday, Nov. 29 performance even earned a well-deserved standing ovation, a testament to the exceptional quality of this production.

The humor ranged from lighthearted quips to more risqué jokes, all landing effortlessly and proving that this production wasn’t afraid to push boundaries. Whether you’re a die-hard fan of the original Golden Girls or simply in search of a night filled with unforgettable laughter, this show is an absolute must-see. It’s a heartfelt tribute to the classic sitcom, reimagined with a modern twist while remaining true to the spirit of the golden gals we all know and love. Truly, this is a production you’ll want to experience again and again!“ The show heads next to Texas and Michigan. Find out more at GoldenGirlstour.com/tour/2024.”
