Lane Community College hosted its Winter Term 2025 Student Resource Fair on Wednesday, Jan. 15, as part of Welcome Week activities. The fair sought to encourage meaningful connections between students and resource providers. Many booths collected feedback on LCC campus services and activities, helping bridge gaps between students and available resources.
The event took place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the second floor of the Center Building at the main campus.
Organized by Student Life and Leadership, which hosts the fair each term, the event provided students with a centralized space to explore various campus services and resources. Informational booths from various departments and organizations offered community resource materials, snacks, prizes and health products, including condoms and affirmations, to engage students and encourage participation.
To incentivize engagement, attendees received stamp cards and were required to collect at least 10 stamps to qualify for prize drawings. Prizes including backpacks, Hydro Flasks, and Squishmallows, were awarded throughout the event.
The fair also encouraged meaningful connections between students and resource providers. Many booths collected feedback on LCC campus services and activities, helping bridge gaps between students and available resources.
A table for Student Legal Services, provided by Access the Law, highlighted free legal aid available to eligible students. Funded by the Student Activity Fee, the service is accessible to students enrolled in credit-based lecture classes on Lane’s main campus. Students taking online-only, noncredit or satellite campus courses are not eligible.
Services offered include landlord-tenant disputes, uncontested child custody, marriage cases, employment issues, disability and more.
The Title IX Office was also involved in the event, offering resources for individuals affected by domestic violence or sexual abuse. Additionally, they address gender-based discrimination, including cases involving women in sports and much more. The office is prepared to handle campus-related concerns and can refer individuals to external services for issues beyond the college’s scope.
“The purpose of this resource fair is to bring as many of these resources together in one place so students don’t feel overwhelmed and can learn about the amazing groups here to support us,” SGA President Sophie Gibson said. “LCC offers so many resources to us as students. It’s important for all of us to take advantage of these tools.”
The fair featured organizations such as the Titan Food Pantry, Multicultural Center, Admissions Office, Financial Aid, Learning Garden, and Center for Accessible Resources. These groups goal is to help students navigate campus life and discover valuable support systems.
