Lane Titan Baseball was scheduled to face Spokane Community College on Sunday, Feb. 23 in a doubleheader. The weather had a different idea as the excess rain made playing the games impossible. This came a day after they split their first doubleheader with Spokane on Saturday. With a 4-0 shut-out loss in the first game and a 6-4 comeback win in the second, the seven-inning affair was highlighted by four runs in the bottom of the sixth for Lane.

Lane was looking to take the season series between the two teams with the two games on Sunday. Rain has made it so those will be the only games in which the teams face each other this season, save if they both make the playoffs. Hopefully, as summer approaches, the rain will subside and no other baseball games get affected, so Lane Baseball can be watched at its brightest and best.

Lane is currently 4-2 with all out-of-conference games, their first conference game comes against Southwestern Oregon Thursday, Feb. 27, where they look to start the conference season out on a positive note away at Coos Bay. There will be some new faces on the squad as 11 freshmen lace up for Lane, which means 11 returning sophomores with familiar faces for your Titans as the 22-man squad looks to build on last year’s playoff appearance.
