Women’s basketball is on a hot streak this season. Most recently they beat Portland 92-35 and Chemeketa 72-39. Go support our Titans this Saturday at 2 p.m. when they face off against the Clackamas Cougars. The men’s team has been struggling to get back to the win streak they had in November. They recently lost to Portland and Chemeketa. Show the men’s team some support after the women’s game this Saturday at 4.
The Rainy Day Food Pantry is going to be closed during the month of January. Students can now access the Student Food Pantry starting Jan. 9, 2023 at Grace Lutheran Church, 710 E. 17th Avenue. LCC is forming a workgroup to meet the hunger needs of students here on campus.
The Student Production Association will be holding auditions for the 2023 Winter Shorts, this Wednesday and Thursday from 5-8 p.m. in the Blue Door Theater. The Winter Shorts are 10-minute plays so this is a chance to try out your acting chops in a lower pressure atmosphere.
The LCC Health Clinic will be hosting a vaccine clinic this month for flu shots and Covid-19 boosters. Call the Health Clinic to schedule an appointment at 541-463-5665 for flu shots if these dates don’t work for you.

At the state level, Tina Kotek was sworn in as Governor on Monday. Her first act as governor was declaring a homeless state of emergency in Oregon. She announced this on Twitter an hour after being sworn in. We will continue to follow this story to see what actions will be taken.
Senator Ron Wyden will be coming to Lane County this Sunday for a Town Hall. He will be at Gymnasium Arts and Technology Academy (ATA) 1650 W. 22nd Ave in Eugene. The Torch will be attending this Town Hall so expect an article following the event.
