A search is underway to find and elect the eighth president of Lane Community College. The new president will replace President Dr. Margaret Hamilton, who announced her retirement in June 2021. Hamilton is expected to retire in late June of 2022 after serving for five years. The transition of power is projected to take place July 1, 2022.

The Board of Education has decided upon four finalists: Dr. Kim Armstrong, Dr. Stephanie Bulger, Dr. Clyne Namuo, and Dr. Christpher Villa. Over the course of this week, from March 7 to March 10, the four finalists will be visiting the campus and be involved in all-campus and community forums open to all students and employees at Lane.

No registration will be required for all-campus forums, and they will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. via this Zoom link. The community forums will require registration, and the links to register for the forums of each of the candidates are listed on the LCC Presidential Search website. They will be held from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. For those interested in attending the live forums but unable to do so, the forums will be recorded and viewable until 5 p.m. on March 11.

Each of the forums will consist of a brief candidate introduction and will be followed by a question and answer session. The Board is interested in gaining feedback from attendees, so all who do are invited to fill out an online survey. The deadline to submit the surveys is 5 p.m. on March 11.

The links to the recorded forums and surveys will be posted on the LCC Presidential Search website and will also be sent through Lane Weekly.
