On Friday, March 3rd and Saturday, March 4th, Lane Community College, in collaboration with Lane County African American Black Student Success and the United Way of Lane County, brought joy and inspiration to the hearts of children and adults with their successful event: the Tiny Titans Summit 2023. Held at the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art and Lane CC’s main campus, the event featured a live performance of the beloved children’s book Fat Cat Caterpillar by author Ja’Nia Harden.
Attendees were entertained with the heartwarming story of Leona, Eloise and Andy, and their endearing chocolate friend, Fat Cat Caterpillar. The musicians and dancer/choreographer Randolph Ward brought the story to life through their performance. The original music composed by Ja’Nia Harden added an extra layer of magic.
As a professional musician and composer for over 15 years, Harden created Fat Cat Caterpillar as a coming-of-age tale that celebrates diversity and encourages readers to embrace their individuality. The live performance at the Tiny Titans Summit 2023 was an unforgettable experience that left attendees feeling inspired and uplifted.
Lane County African American Black Student Success encouraged everyone in attendance to purchase a copy of the book and to support future renditions of this musical production.
