At Lane Community College, students have every opportunity to feed their minds with knowledge, but what about their stomachs? Luckily, over at the Center Building neighboring with the Titan store where you may have picked up your school supplies and books is the food courts where students can study, hang out and most importantly get some grub.
Doug’s Place
Doug’s Place is the perfect place to get your burger fix and with many different choices and to help narrow down those choices I asked Yuen, a representative and worker at Doug’s, for some help choosing what looks good.
How would you describe your menu?
“We specialize in different burgers and teriyaki chicken with rice and veggies and soon we will be adding noodles to the menu. And we also have really good chicken strips.”
Do you have any specials?
“Everyday different kinds of burgers: a cowboy burger with bacon and cheese and barbecue sauce; and yesterday we had a chef’s special burger with pulled pork on the burger which is really good with pepper jack; and today we have a mushroom swiss so we have a special everyday.”
How would you describe your store?
“We have fast, made-to-order food and good burgers. We’re a made-to-serve casual fast food.
Fresh food we keep it fresh.”

Doug’s hours are 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday-Thursday and they are closed on Fridays.
Bartolotti’s Pizza
Bartolotti’s Pizza is the place to be for a good slice of pizza. It may sound a little cheesy but it’s true. The establishment has been up and running for a year with plenty to choose from and to help you make a good decision, here is John, a friendly worker.
How would you describe your menu?
“We have six different types of pizza, garlic knots and rigatoni, a couple of salads and drinks.”
Do you have any specials?
“We do not do specials right now but it’s something I’m discussing with my manager so we might have some in the future.”
How would you describe your store?
“Pretty straight forward we do slices, everyone loves slices and we’re open every lunch hour.”

Taco Intrusion
Looking for something fresh and good, with tons of options? Or maybe you want a good burrito.
Then good news, Taco Intrusion is the place to be. The establishment has been up and running since last year with them only recently opening after COVID. I asked Palacio Cruz, a worker at Taco Intrusion, for some tips on what works best.
How would you describe your menu?
“delicious, affordable tacos, burritos, taco salads, taco bowls. Everything cut fresh for the day and the meats are always executed to perfection we really have a tight crew that cares about the food that comes out and we just want this food to be something people can enjoy and afford”
Daily specials?
“We have some rotating proteins such as chili Colorado shredded beef is what we’re rockin’ with right now. But usually the beef will go to a carne asada or we’ll change up the way we do our pork. Right now it’s a chile verde pork but we would like to change it up to be carnitas pork which has a more citrus flavor.”
How would you describe your store overall?
“Quality food, quality people, and quick service. We enjoy what we do and are very privileged to be able to use the facilities at Lane to make something beautiful and celebrate food the way we do.”
If you’re looking for a friendly, creative hardworking establishment where they really put elbow grease into their product this is the place to be.
Overall, each place has good qualities. It just depends on what you’re in the mood for. So take a load off from all your hard work and relax.
