The Oregon School Activities Committee cross country state championships were held at LCC on Saturday, Nov. 5. High School athletes from across the state, at the top of their game, came to campus to compete. 

Students from 1A-6A schools participated. Girls from 1A, 2A, and 3A raced against each other in their 5k. 1A schools have less than 74 students, 3A schools have 146-310 students. 

Daisy Lalonde from East Linn Christian placed 1st in the smaller schools’ 5k. Trevor Nichols of Heppner took 1st place in the boys’ 1A and 2A five-kilometer race.
Ana Peters took 1st in the girls 6A division 5k. 6A schools have over 1000 students. Jacob Nenow of Jesuit won the boys 6A division 5k. Races took place throughout the day from 10 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. More information on winners can be found here, along with a map of the course.
